Coffee and tea shops? Yeah, sure. You can get a cup of coffee for less than five dollars, contrary to popular belief. In many shops, you can even smoke your neighbors' cigarette emissions. At the Starbuck's, though, no dice -- only clean air there.

Cafe Vivement Dimanche. Italian-style coffee house near railroad tracks Northwest of Kamakura Station (5-minute walk).

Jazz Club Daphne (0467-24-5169). Jazz bar. 6pm-12am (closed Wednesdays). Music 7:30-? ¥1000 music cover. From Kamakura Station go East to the main road (Books Shimamori), and turn left. Continue up this road past Motomachi Union about a minute or so to the big torii (Shinto Gate). Turn left on the next little street after the torii. The Jazz Club Daphne is on he left on this alleyway.
